Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

StillSafe is fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AAA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.

  • Color contrast ratios meet or exceed 7:1 for normal text and 4.5:1 for large text (WCAG Level AAA)

  • No content flashes more than three times per second

  • Touch targets are at least 44x44 CSS pixels
  • No timing-dependent interactions are required
  • Users can pause, stop, or extend any time limits
  • Skip navigation links allow bypassing repetitive content

Cognitive

  • Clear, consistent navigation throughout the site
  • Descriptive headings and labels
  • Form inputs have associated labels and helpful error messages
  • Plain language is used wherever possible
  • Content is organized with logical heading structure

Assistive Technology

  • All images have appropriate alternative text
  • ARIA landmarks identify page regions
  • Dynamic content changes are announced to screen readers
  • Form validation errors are announced
  • Compatible with popular screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)

  • PDF documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. Please contact us if you need information from a PDF in an alternative format.
