Who we are

About StillSafe

A daily check-in for people who live, work, travel, or adventure on their own, so the people they trust hear about it when a check-in is missed.

Who we are

StillSafe (StillSafe.Life) is an independent service based in Texas. Messages are delivered through the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, and we do not sell personal information.

Why StillSafe exists

Millions of people live alone by choice and like it that way. The common worry is a simple one: if I fell, or got sick, how long would it take for someone to notice? StillSafe answers that with a check-in that takes a few seconds a day and stays out of the way the rest of the time. We approach it as a small daily wellness habit, with a wellness tip and optional mood log alongside each check-in.

What StillSafe does

  • You check in on a schedule you set, from every 12 hours to every 72 hours.
  • You get a reminder before each deadline and a grace period after it.
  • On Premium, an automated phone call can ask you first whether you're okay.
  • If you still haven't checked in, the emergency contacts you chose are alerted by email, and by text or voice call on Premium once they have agreed to receive them.
  • If an alert stays unresolved, it escalates to your next tier of contacts. When you check in, everyone who was alerted gets an all-clear.
  • Adventure Mode and Date Safety Mode add timed check-ins and a distress button for hikes, trips, and first dates.

Every step, timing, and limit is published on How Alerts Work.

What StillSafe does not do

  • StillSafe is not an emergency service. It does not call 911 or dispatch responders. In an emergency, call 911.
  • No person monitors your account in real time. Alerts are automated and go only to the private contacts you designate.
  • It is not an alarm company, a monitoring center, or a medical alert system.
  • Email, text, and call delivery depends on carriers and other providers, and messages can be delayed or fail. Keep other safety plans in place.

The full terms are in our Terms of Service.

Who can use it

StillSafe is for adults 18 and older located in the United States. The daily check-in with email alerts to one contact is free. Premium adds unlimited contacts, text and voice-call alerts, and the other modes; see pricing.

How we write our content

Articles on the StillSafe blog are written by the StillSafe Editorial Team. We link to primary sources such as the CDC, the National Weather Service, and the AVMA for health and safety figures. Example stories and scenarios on this site are illustrative and are labeled as such; they do not describe real customers. If you spot an error, please tell us.
