StillSafe stands out in several ways:

  • Privacy-first design - We don't continuously track you. Your location is only shared when you want it to be or during emergencies.
  • Smart escalation - We try to reach you multiple ways before alerting your contacts, reducing false alarms.
  • Multi-channel alerts - Email, SMS text messages, and AI voice calls ensure your contacts actually receive alerts.
  • No app required for contacts - Your emergency contacts don't need to download anything.
  • Specialized modes - Adventure Mode for outdoor activities, Date Safety Mode for meeting new people.

StillSafe is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can use it directly in your browser or install it to your home screen for an app-like experience. There's no app store download required.

To install: Visit stillsafe.life on your phone, tap the "Add to Home Screen" option in your browser menu, and StillSafe will work just like a native app with offline capabilities.

StillSafe works on any device with a modern web browser - smartphones (iPhone and Android), tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. Our responsive design adapts to any screen size, and the PWA can be installed on mobile devices for the best experience.

Yes! StillSafe works in 45+ countries. Our system automatically detects your timezone so your check-in schedules adjust when you travel. SMS and voice call alerts work to international phone numbers (Premium feature).

Daily Check-Ins

Daily check-ins are simple:

  1. Set your preferred check-in interval (12, 24, 48, or 72 hours)
  2. Receive reminders as your deadline approaches
  3. Tap "Check In" with one tap when you're ready
  4. Your timer resets and the cycle continues

If you miss your check-in deadline plus the grace period, we'll try to reach you. If we can't, your emergency contacts are notified.

You can set your check-in interval to:

  • 12 hours - For those who want more frequent check-ins
  • 24 hours - The most popular choice, once daily
  • 48 hours - Every other day
  • 72 hours - Every three days

The grace period is extra time after your check-in deadline before alerts are sent to your contacts. This helps prevent false alarms if you're just running a few minutes late.

You can set your grace period to 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes in your settings.

As your check-in deadline approaches, you'll receive reminders at:

  • 2 hours before deadline
  • 1 hour before deadline
  • 30 minutes before deadline
  • 15 minutes before deadline

Reminders are sent via push notification and email. You can customize which reminders you receive in your settings.

If you miss your check-in, StillSafe uses a smart escalation process:

  1. We send you additional reminders via email and push notification
  2. Premium users receive an AI voice call asking if they're okay
  3. If you respond to any of these, the alert is cancelled
  4. Only after multiple failed attempts do we notify your emergency contacts

This tiered approach dramatically reduces false alarms while ensuring real emergencies are addressed.

Yes, you can pause your check-in schedule anytime from your dashboard. This is useful when you're traveling with family, staying with others, or simply don't need the service temporarily. Resume whenever you're ready.

Mood tracking is an optional Premium feature that lets you log how you're feeling with each check-in. Rate your mood on a 1-5 scale and add optional notes.

Over time, you can see patterns in your wellness and identify trends. This information is private and only visible to you.

Emergency Contacts

  • Free plan: 1 emergency contact
  • Premium plan: Unlimited emergency contacts

No! Your emergency contacts don't need to download anything or create an account. They receive alerts via email, SMS text message, or AI voice call - whatever methods you enable for them. They can click a link in the alert to see your details and location.

Yes, with Premium you can customize notification preferences for each contact. Choose whether they receive email alerts, SMS texts, voice calls, or any combination. You can also set different contacts for different purposes (e.g., one for daily check-ins, another for adventures).

With Premium, you can set the order in which contacts are notified. The first contact is alerted first, and if they don't respond or acknowledge the alert, the next contact is notified, and so on.

This is useful if you want a specific person (like a spouse) to be contacted before others (like adult children or neighbors).

When an alert is triggered, your contacts receive:

  • Your name and profile information
  • The type of alert (missed check-in, adventure, date safety, etc.)
  • Your last known location (if GPS is enabled)
  • Relevant details (adventure info, date details, pet care instructions)
  • Your emergency info card (if set up)
  • A link to view your full details on a map

Alert System

Our smart escalation system tries multiple ways to reach you before alerting your contacts:

  1. Email reminders - Sent to your registered email
  2. Push notifications - Sent to your device
  3. AI voice call (Premium) - An automated call to verify you're okay
  4. Contact notification - Only after all attempts fail

At any point, if you respond by checking in, the escalation stops immediately.

StillSafe offers multiple alert channels:

  • Email - Always included, works on Free and Premium
  • SMS Text Messages - Premium feature
  • AI Voice Calls - Premium feature, calls both you and your contacts
  • Push Notifications - Available on all plans

The AI voice call is a Premium feature where our automated system calls your phone if you miss a check-in. The call asks if you're okay and listens for your response.

If you confirm you're fine, the alert is cancelled. If the call goes unanswered or you indicate you need help, the escalation continues to your emergency contacts.

Yes! If an alert is in progress, you can cancel it at any time by checking in through the app or responding to an AI voice call. If your contacts have already been notified, they'll receive a follow-up message letting them know you're okay.

StillSafe is designed to minimize false alarms:

  • Set a longer grace period (up to 60 minutes)
  • Use a check-in interval that matches your lifestyle
  • Enable multiple reminder types so you don't forget
  • The smart escalation system gives you multiple chances to respond
  • Pause check-ins when staying with others

Adventure Mode

Adventure Mode is a Premium feature designed for outdoor activities. It lets you log your adventure details, set an expected return time, and track your GPS location throughout your activity.

If you don't check in by your return time (plus grace period), your emergency contacts are alerted with your last known location and adventure details.

Adventure Mode supports 17+ activity types including:

  • Hiking and backpacking
  • Mountain biking and cycling
  • Kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding
  • Skiing and snowboarding
  • Rock climbing and bouldering
  • Camping
  • Fishing and hunting
  • Motocross and ATV riding
  • Boating
  • Trail running
  • And more

StillSafe caches your GPS location data when you're out of cell range and uploads it automatically when you regain signal.

For areas with no cell coverage, we recommend setting a longer duration and grace period. Your last known location before losing signal will still be available to your contacts.

Simply tap the "Extend" button to add more time to your adventure. You can extend multiple times if needed. The button is designed to be easy to tap even with gloves on.

The distress signal is a one-tap emergency button that immediately alerts all your emergency contacts with your exact GPS coordinates, adventure details, and vehicle information. Use it if you need help right away without waiting for your timer to expire.

Yes! You can save your frequent trails and routes as templates. This lets you start your regular adventures with one tap instead of re-entering all the details each time.

StillSafe uses efficient low-power GPS tracking. On a typical 4-hour hike, expect about 5-10% additional battery usage. We recommend starting with a full charge for longer adventures and bringing a portable battery pack for extended trips.

Date Safety Mode

Date Safety Mode is a Premium feature designed for meeting new people from dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and others.

It lets you log your date's details, share your real-time location with trusted contacts, and includes discreet ways to signal for help if you feel unsafe.

  • Date's name or username
  • Screenshot of their dating profile
  • Which app you met on
  • Meeting location
  • Expected duration
  • Any notes or details

Date Safety Mode includes several discreet ways to signal for help without alerting your date:

  • Safe word - Text a secret code to a designated number to trigger an alert
  • Fake call - Receive a realistic incoming call to give you an excuse to leave
  • Shake to alert - Rapidly shake your phone 3 times to trigger help
  • Panic button - Direct emergency button for immediate help

You can schedule a fake incoming call at any time during your date. When triggered, your phone rings with a realistic-looking call screen. You can answer it and pretend to have a conversation, giving you an excuse to leave if you're uncomfortable.

StillSafe is designed to be discreet. All distress signals can be triggered without obviously opening an app. The fake call looks like a real incoming call. Location sharing happens silently in the background. Your date won't know unless you tell them.

Date Safety Mode works with any dating app or situation where you're meeting someone new. Common apps include Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Match, Coffee Meets Bagel, The League, Grindr, Her, and more. You can also use it when meeting people from social media or other online platforms.

Pet Care Profiles

Pet Care Profiles are a Premium feature that lets you store comprehensive care instructions for your pets. If something happens to you and your emergency contacts are notified, they'll automatically receive all the information needed to care for your pets.

  • Pet photos and identification
  • Feeding schedule (food type, amount, timing)
  • Medications (names, dosages, schedule)
  • Veterinarian info (clinic, vet name, phone, emergency vet)
  • Behavioral notes (temperament, fears, commands, triggers)
  • Chronic conditions and allergies
  • Microchip numbers
  • Vaccination records
  • Emergency caretaker designation

Premium members can add unlimited pet profiles. Free plan users don't have access to this feature.

You can create profiles for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, horses, and other pets. The profile fields adapt based on the type of pet.

Your pet information is only shared with your emergency contacts when an alert is triggered. They receive all the details they need to provide immediate care for your pets. You can also designate a specific "emergency caretaker" who should be contacted first about your pets.

Privacy & Security

Privacy is fundamental to our design:

  • No continuous tracking - We only track your location when you explicitly enable it (Adventure Mode, Date Safety)
  • Location only shared in emergencies - Your contacts don't see your location until an alert triggers
  • No cameras or microphones - We never access your camera or microphone
  • No selling data - We never sell or share your personal information with third parties
  • 256-bit encryption - All your data is encrypted in transit and at rest

No. Location tracking is only active when you explicitly enable it during Adventure Mode or Date Safety Mode. For daily check-ins, location is optional and only recorded at the moment you check in - not continuously. You're always in control of when and if your location is tracked.

Your information is only visible to:

  • You - Full access to all your data anytime
  • Your emergency contacts - Only when an alert is triggered, and only the information relevant to the emergency
  • StillSafe - Our systems process your data to provide the service, but staff access is strictly limited and logged

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected with 256-bit TLS encryption (the same technology banks use). Your data stored on our servers is also encrypted at rest. We follow industry best practices for data security.

Yes. You can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Once deleted, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. You can also delete specific items like adventure history or pet profiles without deleting your whole account.

Absolutely not. We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Our business model is based on subscriptions, not advertising. Your data exists solely to provide you with the StillSafe service.

StillSafe maintains 99.9% uptime with 24/7 monitoring. Our systems are designed with redundancy to ensure alerts are delivered even if individual components experience issues. We use multiple SMS and voice providers to ensure reliable delivery.

StillSafe requires an internet connection to send and receive alerts. However, the PWA caches basic functionality for offline use, and Adventure Mode caches GPS data when you're out of cell range, uploading it when you regain signal. Check-ins and alerts require connectivity.

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email address. We'll send you a secure link to reset your password. The link expires after 1 hour for security. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.

You can reach our support team through the Contact page. Premium members receive priority support. We typically respond within 24 hours on business days.
